The card is on a lighter black. The "Happy Halloween" does show up better than in this picture. This was made with "Cricut Lite for the words which I love . This is the only cartridge of the new ones that I purchased. It like it because it has many things to use for many occassions. I especially like the words that can be printed out and put on the cards. Hope you enjoy the card.7/30/2010
